Jessica Graves - Garden Valley Veterinary HospitalJessica Graves

Jessica grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. She always loved animals and wanted to be a veterinarian when she was little.  She started out cleaning kennels at a humane society and 10 years later, is still in the animal field. As her career path grew, she realized her true passion was being a leader to other team members in the veterinary field.  She became a practice manager and is working towards her CVPM.

Jessica currently resides in Windsor, with her husband Devin and their young son, Wilder.  Her current animals include an Olde English Bulldog named Quincy, a fat cat named Franklin, and a spoiled Siamese named Kitten. In her free time she enjoys watching crime investigation shows, reading, and anything Disney.

Kate McAllisterKate McAllister

Kate was born and raised in Waterman, Illinois and attended college at Northern Illinois University where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in geography and geographic information systems.  In 2015 she fulfilled her childhood dream of moving to Colorado, but will always stay true to her roots by remaining a loyal Chicago Blackhawks fan!  Kate has been an animal lover her entire life and is an advocate for our clients and the health of their fur babies.  In her free time she enjoys making jewelry, taking advantage of Colorado’s fabulous scenery, traveling, spending time with her friends and family, and of course spoiling her dog Layla.

Stephanie Barrett

Stephanie is a proud Colorado native, having been born and raised in Fort Collins. An avid animal lover since childhood, Stephanie loves to spoil her pets. She has owned and cared for retired racing greyhounds for nearly a decade. In addition to being passionate about animal adoption, it has been her lifelong dream to work in the veterinary field. Having recently bought her first house in Windsor, Stephanie is eager to make a positive impact on her local community. She is extremely excited to be a part of the Garden Valley team!

Jenna Hesselink - Garden Valley Veterinary HospitalJenna Hesselink

Jenna was born and raised in California and moved to Colorado in 2015 to finish up school at Colorado State University. She graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor’s of Equine Sciences and a business minor. She has always been a lover of all animals, but horses hold a special place in her heart. She is a pet mom to one horse named Smokey, who takes up most of her free time. When she’s not at the barn, she spends her time traveling the beautiful state of Colorado, goes running, and loves to hang out with friends. She is so excited to be a part of the Garden Valley Vet staff!

Veterinary Technicians:

Brenda Joslen

Brenda Joslen – Certified Veterinary Technician

Brenda was originally born in Colorado Springs, CO, but grew up in a small town in Arizona called Page. Since the age of three, she has always had a true passion for all animals. Growing up with five horses and two dogs, she loves having the responsibility of giving all pets the best care possible. Brenda also competed in rodeo with her horses for two years and continues to be involved in the equine field. She has a sweet loving Boxer/German Shepherd dog named Gauge and a Shar Pei mix named Nelli. Brenda graduated from Front Range Community College in 2018, earning her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology.

Val Armendariz

Val Armendariz – Certified Veterinary Technician

Val was born in Las Vegas, Nevada and raised in Fort Collins, CO.  She’s loved animals her entire life and has always enjoyed caring for them.  She currently has a sweet pit bull named Bella.  Val earned her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology from Front Range Community College in 2019.  She hopes to eventually specialize in anesthesia.  When Vals’s not at work, she enjoys being outdoors and some of her favorite hobbies include paddle boarding and hiking.

Desiree Engeldahl - Garden Valley Veterinary HospitalDesiree Engeldahl – Certified Veterinary Technician

Desiree is a Colorado native, born in Thornton, but raised in the mountains in Gypsum, CO. She then moved to Fort collins to pursue her dream job of working in the veterinary field. Desiree went to CSU to get a bachelor’s degree in science, but life took her in a different direction, and she graduated from FRCC in Veterinary Technology in 2018. She married her wonderful husband and now have one son together who just turned a year old. She also has one dog named Moose. Desiree’s hobbies include snowboarding, hiking, camping, fishing and being a mother. She hopes to, one day, own a big enough house with enough land to adopt all the senior dogs and cats out of the shelters.

Rebecca Madison

Rebecca Madison – Veterinary Assistant

Rebecca was born in California on a military base. When she was two, she and her family moved to Windsor. She attended school and graduated in 2015. Since she was a little girl, she’s had a passion for helping animals. She has grown up with dogs, horses, and chickens. She currently moved to Eaton with her fiancé where they have 6 chickens and 4 dogs (Daisy 17-year-old yorkie, Chance 9-year-old lab mix, Luke 4-year-old Aussie border collie mix, and Bow 2-year-old Deaf Double Merle Aussie). She plans to attend veterinary technician school in the future.

Kiersten Bell - Garden Valley Veterinary HospitalKiersten Bell-Veterinary Assistant

Kiersten Graduated from Animal Behavior College with a degree in Veterinary Assisting and received a 4.0GPA. She’s always seen herself in a Veterinary hospital since she was young, and would one day soon like to pursue becoming a Veterinarian. Kiersten’s family life includes her wonderful husband Christian, daughter Evelyn, and son Lincoln followed by two loving German Shepherds named Bailey and Brooke. When she is not working you can find her outside playing with her kids. She also really enjoys cooking and traveling. Her biggest goal for the next five years is to be able to travel to either Europe or South Africa. Her life long goal is to say she’s been to every continent. Piers around her describe her as funny, goofy, and a joy to be around.

Kaylie Dardano

Kaylie was originally born in Wheat Ridge, CO. She is currently majoring in Zoology at Colorado State University. She plans to continue her passion for animals into veterinary school and specialize in radiology. Kaylie grew up always surrounded by animals and currently has an orange tabby named Ruby. When she’s not studying she enjoys watching the Broncos and spending time with family and friends. Kaylie loves being able to work with animals everyday and give them the attention and love they all deserve.

Kendra Kozik - Garden Valley Veterinary HospitalKendra Kozik

Kendra is originally from Oklahoma and moved here in 2010. She now resides in Greeley and has three dogs; Georgie a husky-malamute mix, Caroline a husky and Moose a lab mix. Kendra has always loved having and taking care of animals, ranging from cats and dogs to chickens and rabbits. She will be graduating from Colorado State University with a bachelor’s in psychology and a minor in Business and is also completing a K9 specialist certificate. She has 2+ years experience working in a boarding setting and plans on either opening her own boarding facility/daycare or an animal rescue. In her free time she loves to spend time with her dogs and is always game to take a trip up to the mountains.

Sammie was born and raised in Colorado. She always knew she wanted to work with animals and decided to go grooming school. She graduated from grooming school in 2017 and started at Garden Valley shortly after. Sammie enjoys using her low stress handling techniques and professional training to make your pets look and feel their best! In her free time, Sammie enjoys singing, hiking, and spending time with her English bulldog, Heavy.
