At Garden Valley Veterinary Hospital, we are committed to providing your pet with compassionate, quality care through every step of life, including grooming services to help your pet not only feel great but look great as well. If you’ve been looking for a groomer you can trust with your pet’s grooming needs, you’ve come to the right place.
When was the last time your pet had a grooming appointment? If it’s been more than a few months, your pet is more than likely overdue for important grooming services. While the specific services needed may vary from one breed to the next, most pets (dogs especially) will benefit from routine bathing and haircuts/trimming. This, of course, is especially important for pets with a longer coat, as a lack of grooming and trimming can eventually lead to hair clumps. These clumps can be very painful and difficult to remove once they begin to form, and they can lead to skin irritation or even infection.
Even if you have a shorter-haired dog, keep in mind that regular grooming is a great way to care for your pet’s skin and coat. Furthermore, even pets with very little fur should still have their nails trimmed every so often. Dogs also need to have anal gland expression done to avoid buildup of secretions in the anal glands, which can otherwise lead to painful abscesses and sores.
Cats need regular grooming as well. It’s a common misconception that kitties can take care of all their hygiene needs on their own. In fact, routine grooming appointments help cut down on your cat’s hairballs and it also gives you an opportunity to carefully inspect his or her fur, skin, ears, and eyes. Grooming is also a great way for you and your kitty to bond and if you start the grooming process when they are kittens, the process will be much more pleasant.
We offer a wide range of animal grooming services, including baths, nail trims, ear cleanings, and anal gland expressions.
