If you’ve been looking for a groomer you can trust with your pet’s grooming needs, you’ve come to the right place.

The Importance of Regular Grooming for Your Pet

When was the last time your pet had a grooming appointment? If it’s been more than a few months, your pet is more than likely overdue for important grooming services. While the specific services needed may vary from one breed to the next, most pets (dogs especially) will benefit from routine bathing and haircuts/trimming. This, of course, is especially important for pets with a longer coat, as a lack of grooming and trimming can eventually lead to hair clumps. These clumps can be very painful and difficult to remove once they begin to form, and they can lead to skin irritation or even infection.

Even if you have a shorter-haired pet, keep in mind that regular grooming is a great way to care for your pet’s skin and coat. Furthermore, even pets with very little fur should still have their nails trimmed every so often. Dogs also need to have anal gland expression done so as to avoid buildup of secretions in the anal glands, which can otherwise lead to painful abscesses and sores. The frequency with which anal gland expression should be done can vary from one pet to the next, as some pets have more secretions than others. Generally, however, it should be done at least once every few months by a qualified and experienced groomer.

Even with routine grooming appointments, there are steps you can take at home as a pet owner to keep your pet’s coat and skin healthy. If your pet will allow it, take time to gently brush his or her fur at least a couple times per week.
